ABOUT Security Doors

A door first. A security product second.

You will open this a few thousand times a year, so it has to behave like a door before anything else. Sliding doors run in their own track alongside the glass, so the glass can stay open all summer without the yard coming in. Hinged doors take the front and back entries, and on the stainless system every one of them is hung on three hinges rather than two, which spreads the load and stops the door dropping out of square over the years. Every door is made to the opening and installed across Cairns and the northern beaches.

AS5041 tests three ways a door gets attacked: a jemmy bar at the frame, a knife at the mesh retention, and an impact against the whole thing. Every door here has passed all three. The stainless doors add three-point locking, bolting top, middle and bottom in one turn, so there is no free corner to lever against. Perforated aluminium is backed for seven years, stainless mesh for life, and our own installation for ten.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, but understand what you are buying. A security door in perforated aluminium or fine stainless mesh already stops most insects, because the apertures are small. If sandflies or midges are the problem, that is a finer weave than any security mesh runs, and the honest answer is a dedicated flyscreen door alongside or instead. Tell us which one is actually bothering you and we will point you at the right product.

Nearly always. Sliding security doors are made to the opening rather than to a stock size, so an odd width or a non-standard track is not a problem. What we need from you is the opening measurement and a photo of the existing track. Non-standard reveals happen and they are a measuring job, not a dealbreaker.

It removes the easy attack. A single central lock leaves the top and bottom corners free to lever, and that is where a jemmy bar goes first. Three-point locking bolts all three at once. Combined with three hinges on the other side, there is no corner of the door that is not held.

Yes. AS5041, the methods of test for security screen doors and window grilles, covering dynamic impact, jemmy and knife shear. Every system Bellano fits has passed all three. If you are comparing quotes, ask the other supplier which standard and which tests, because "meets Australian Standards" on its own means very little.

It depends which material. Perforated aluminium carries seven years from the manufacturer, riveted or pressure-fitted. Stainless mesh carries a lifetime warranty. On top of whichever one you pick, Bellano covers its own installation work for ten years, which is a separate thing: the manufacturer stands behind the product, we stand behind the fitting.

Yes. We measure and install from Palm Cove and Smithfield in the north through the inner suburbs to Edmonton, Bentley Park and Gordonvale in the south. Send us the opening measurements and a photo, and we will confirm a time to measure up properly.
